Overview

You're preparing for your executive team meeting. You want to pull all the information together ready for your stakeholders.


This tutorial will show you how to set up your portfolio dashboard. It will also show you how to change the status of projects and then to export your portfolio (for example, to your PPM tool).


First, navigate to your portfolio dashboard. You do this by navigating to "Balance portfolio".

Components

There are three types of component that are available in the dashboard;

  • Metrics: Use metrics to track budget, number of projects, capacity constraints or key performance indicators. 
  • Scatter plots: These let you plot a 2x2 graph showing two different aspects of each project. For example, you can plot value score vs. cost (value for money) or to plot strategic fit vs. risk, etc.
  • Column charts: These let you see how your portfolio is split across your organization, goals, categories, etc.

When you add a new component, or when you click the pencil icon on a component to edit it, you can change the way your component is displayed.

Setting up a scatter plot
When configuring the way a scatter plot is displayed, you go through 2 steps. Step 1 is to choose which attributes you want on the axes of your scatter plot.  lets you decide which status levels you want to display and which shape you want to use for each level.

Setting up a column chart

To set up column charts, simply click on the drop-down and select what you'd like to add up. For example, you can display a count of projects, the budget being spent, the strategic scores, etc.
